No family is perfect! All families have challenges and strengths. Therapy gives you the skills and language you need to work through issues more effectively.
Many families seek therapy when they’ve tried everything else they can think of. They reach a point where they want things to change but don’t know how. That’s where the support of a trained professional comes in. Together, we will work to identify problematic patterns of behavior and communication and develop tools and strategies to change them.
Ultimately, it’s up to you and your family whether or not you choose to pursue therapy–but if you’re curious, why not give it a try?

It’s normal to have reservations about starting therapy. It takes courage and vulnerability to open up about sensitive issues, so I commend you for even thinking about it.
Working with a professional offers you support that’s different from talking to family or friends. While it is important to have support from people in your personal life, working with a therapist gives you a neutral sounding board with unique perspective and feedback.
There’s also a common misconception that therapy and coaching is just talking about problems. However, it’s much more than that. We work together to identify solutions and learn new ways of interacting that can help you find more ease in your relationships.
